TOWN OF MENTOR — HELP WANTED

SHOP & ROAD MAINTENANCE WORKER

The Town of Mentor is seeking a dependable, hands-on individual to help care for our roads, grounds, and equipment. If you enjoy working outdoors and taking pride in your community, we encourage you to apply. This position is ideal for a retired person or anyone looking for flexible part-time or full-time work.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Road maintenance and snow plowing

  • Tree trimming and lawn care

  • Keeping town grounds clean and well-maintained

  • Operating equipment such as a plow truck, end loader, and grader

  • Light mechanical work and general upkeep

What We Offer:

  • Starting pay of $18 per hour, with higher rates based on experience

  • Flexible schedule — primarily weekdays, with occasional evenings or weekends for snow removal or storm cleanup

  • Opportunity to work outdoors and serve your local community

  • Short commute for those living in or near Humbird

  • On-the-job training for equipment operation and maintenance

  • Paid time off (1 week) for full-time employees

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Willing to learn equipment operation

  • Willing to work toward earning a CDL

  • Reliable and self-motivated
